This years Fire Fighter class was filled with some great people from surrounding departments.

One couldn't have asked for a better bunch of guys to go through training with.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to all the other regional fire fighters who came down to help train up "the new guys" and share their years of experience.

The Chester Township Fire Department 2018 Cadet Program kicks off to a great start!

Scott Flynn - Cadet Leader

Scott is a long time resident of the Clinton/Fayette county region.    Scott and his family are very active in the community and they are always willing to lead, mentor, and sacrifice for others.

Scott brings a wealth of Fire Fighter and Peace Officer talents to the table when it comes to mentoring our children with their newly discovered career goals.

Meet two of our most recent Cadets:

Taylor Flynn (pictured below) - Age 14

Taylor is a "go get'r" and he enjoys a wide variety of hobbies.   In addition to his amazing grades, Taylor also runs a business!   He creates vinyl stickers for personal or business use!

When Taylor isn't being an entrepreneur... He enjoys video gaming, working on antique fire trucks, and assisting his family with community outreach.

The Chester Township Fire Department is excited to have Taylor as part of our team!   We look forward to mentoring him along his career path to become a Fire Fighter.

Staff of the Chester Township Fire Department received training on drafting at the Caesar Creek State Park.

Drafting is where Engines, Tankers or Tenders pump water from a pond, lake, pool or other static water source.

Training in drafting is VITAL for rural departments as we do not have pressurized hydrants like big cities do.   When there is a fire, rural departments have to draft and transport thousands of gallons of water to the scene of a fire.

Despite all of our hard work that day... We did find time to "dunk" the new guy (Justin) as part of his initiation into the department.
